OVERVIEW

FORTA® MIGHTY-MONO® is an easy-to-finish, fully oriented, 100% virgin homopolymer polypropylene monofilament fibrous reinforcement. This fiber offers long-term durability and increased impact resistance.

FORTA® MIGHTY-MONO® is used to reduce plastic and settlement shrinkage. Non-corrosive, non-magnetic, chemically inert, and 100% Alkali Proof!

APPLICATIONS

FORTA® MIGHTY-MONO® is primarily used in concrete applications such as slab-on-grade, overlays/toppings, curbs, driveways, sidewalks, basement floors, garage floors, and colored concrete, where the objective is to control plastic shrinkage cracking while improving basic durability properties.

INSTALLATION

Recommended dosage rate of FORTA® MIGHTY-MONO® is 1.0 lb. per cubic yard (0.6 kg. per cubic meter) of concrete added directly to the concrete mixing system during, or after, the batching of the other ingredients, and mixed at the time and speed recommended by the mixer manufacturer (usually four to five minutes).

What makes FORTA® MIGHTY-MONO® special?

Due to its fine-filament nature, FORTA® MIGHTY-MONO® is virtually undetectable on the surface finish of most concrete applications.

What are the benefits of this fiber?

FORTA® MIGHTY-MONO® is a very uniform and fine-filament fiber, allowing it to distribute very quickly and uniformly throughout the mix. FORTA® MIGHTY-MONO® is typically used to reduce plastic-shrinkage cracking that occurs during the early life of the concrete.

What are the features of this fiber?

The FORTA® 4-C’s Fiber Characteristics for FORTA® MIGHTY-MONO® are:

  • Configuration - a fine hair-like mono- or single-filament shape
  • Chemistry - 100% virgin polypropylene, natural white in color
  • Contents - typically dosed at 1.0 lb. per cubic yard of concrete
  • Correct Length - most common length used is 3/4″; also available in 1/2″ length
